Who We Are
ER Ambassadors is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit club that is centered around themes of environmental science and Everglades restoration. Our mission is to educate the South Florida community about conservation, environmental sustainability, and the wonders found only within Florida's unique ecology.
The Next Generation
The Community
Teaching aftercare students at elementary schools is our way of ensuring that children are educated on the importance of our environment.
Students will learn about:
-The Water Cycle
-Everglades Habitats
-Water Quality
-Nutrient Cycling
-Many More!
Our hands on modules make learning about environmental conservation fun and exciting for young learners.
By attending community outreach events such as Water Matters Day and Sunrise Earth Day, the ER Ambassadors are able to inform the community about the area they live in.
These events help people of all ages learn about topics such as saltwater intrusion, the geology of South Florida, and many other aspects of the environment.
Meet the Sponsor
Matthew Zealy
"“The Cosmos is all that is or was or ever will be. Our feeblest contemplations of the Cosmos stir us -- there is a tingling in the spine, a catch in the voice, a faint sensation, as if a distant memory, of falling from a height. We know we are approaching the greatest of mysteries."
-Carl Sagan
Mr. Matthew Zealy graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Microbiology. As a South Plantation alumni from the class of 1997, he has been a teacher at SPHS for 15 years and teaches Limnology and Experimental Science.
Mr. Zealy is Director of Camp Everglades and has spent the last 14 years at South being the ER Ambassadors Sponsor.
